Since the 20th century, the phenomenon of Western painting in China on the dissemination and exchange has been gradually paid attention for many Chinese and foreign scholars from art history and cultural history of the different perspective on the research angle. While over the past 100 years the related academic work has been common in this complex and hidden, long and tortuous cultural phenomenon, in a concise, vivid word to be said.The most typical abbreviated word " XiHuaDongJian " is said in these examples. This process has two stages, namely: the Ming and Qing Dynasties " XiHuaDongJian "and the 20th century " XiHuaDongJian ".Among them, the 20th century has become the focus of researchers, but the Ming and Qing Dynasties " XiHuaDongJian "has been relatively ignored.The outline of the Ming and Qing Dynasties " XiHuaDongJian ",the so-called "hidden art history." is obviously, not as clear as the 20th century history of Chinese painting,So, this paper will be the Ming and Qing Dynasties " XiHuaDongJian " for a Research.Paper relating to the problem of Chinese painters how tried to fusion the Chinese and Western painting forms during their contacting with missionaries and all kinds of Western painting forms and its impact in different region. This paper made a further study on the following points in the basis of predecessors research:Is who, when spreads to the western-style painting our country's question1,The problems of who and at what time bring in the Western painting .2,The problems of how many help role the Western painting have played in the missionary activities.Namely,Religious paintings is how to promote missionary activities.3,The problem is what was the impact and significance of the Western painting that imported During the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty missionary activities. Namely, whether it is successful about the method of the Western painting introduction. In this paper,I used the methods of a combination of the study of theory,literature reading and on-the-spot investigation,and tried to from the perspective of Chinese and foreign cultural exchanges,to disscuss the rise, development, performance and evolution of this phenomenon. Only in this way can we explore a better understanding of Chinese and foreign art and cultural development in the interaction.
