| As a high-tech industry, the satellite navigation currently has a maturing trend of technological development and strong supports from national policies and governments and preliminarily formed scale in the China’s market. Given this, the satellite navigation would act as a new economic growth point in our country on account of its resulting increase of application in professional fields and demands in people’s daily life. The successful application of Beidou navigation system, not only improved our country’s scientific and technological strength, but also improved the quality of life of our people’ quality of life.The source text of this translation project comes from Chapter Six The Beidou Navigation Satellite Terminal, and Chapter Nine to Chapter Twelve, in the Blue Book of China’s Beidou Navigation Development in 2013-2014. This four chapter is the introduction of Beidou navigation satellite system application terminal along with its functions, application status and prospect in national defense, aviation, marine fishery and transport. China expects to enhance exchanges and cooperation with countries around the world, to discuss the development directions of satellite navigation. China will provide satellite positioning, navigation and timing service to global customers. Through the translation of this source text, the translator expects to help people abroad have a better understanding of Beidou navigation system and thus accept it and use it.This report, under the guidance of Newmark’s Communicative Translation Theory, analyzes the application of literal translation, liberal translation, amplification, syncopation in the Chinese-English translation, and probes the translation methods of scientific text. |
