Every nation in the world has its own language and culture shaped in particular circumstance. To promote communication, the interpreter will not only understand the culture in language but also understand the cultural difference in different nations. Interpreting is not just the literal interpreting of source language and it is a kind of communication and transplant in different cultures. Therefore, interpreting is an activity in both two languages and two cultures. To reach the purpose of communication, the interpreter should adjust interpreting strategy and choose appropriate expressions from the perspective of audience and help the audience understand the culture information. The content of this interpreting is the documentary World Heritage in China, which shows 33 Chinese natural heritages, cultural heritages and intangible cultural heritages listed by UNESCO in the World Heritage List. The documentary is regarded as a encyclopaedia of China’s world heritage. It is also a way to make people know more about China. However, there is no English commentary of this documentary. To solve this problem, the interpreter makes a consecutive interpreting of it from the perspective of both the interpreter and the audience. The documentary World Heritage in China Episode12 the ancient city of Pingyao and Episode19 Mount Tai are chosen as the interpreting content. The report consists of three parts, an introduction, the main body and a conclusion. The first chapter is the description of the interpreting content, goals of interpreting task and linguistic features of the documentary. The second chapter records the pre-interpreting preparation, execution of interpreting and the maters after interpreting. In the process of pre-preparation, the preparation is made from subject and items. Besides, the interpreter makes some relative predictions. The third chapter is case analysis. Based on the interpretive theory of translation advanced by Danica Seleskovitch, five interpreting strategies are used in the interpreting. In the conclusion part, the interpreter concludes some problems and solutions. The interpreter hopes this interpreting practice can guide the future interpreting in similar field. At the same time, the report is hoped to present to other interpreters for reference.
