On Interpreting For Foreign-related Electromechanical Projects

As China’s electromechanical industry develops, more and more electromechanical enterprises start to take on foreign-related projects. As a bridge of communication, interpreters are of vital importance in the implementation of the projects.Mechatronics is a highly comprehensive inter-discipline, and foreign-related electromechanical projects are complex with specific working procedures. Therefore, interpreting for foreign-related electromechanical projects also has particular features. Based on the author’s one-year interpreting experience in Fujian Minghui Mech & Elec Co.,Ltd, this thesis covers two major parts:First, an analysis of the working procedures of foreign-related electromechanical projects and features of related interpreting; Second, an explanation of previous preparations for such interpreting tasks and useful interpreting strategies. By analyzing the above two main aspects, the author hopes to offer a better understanding of interpreting for foreign-related electromechanical projects and valuable experience for such tasks.
