Traditional artistic image is the embodiment of ancient culture, the human aesthetic and ideology, is the perception and description about the world, including some image bizarre and exaggerated to the present aesthetic, maybe too fanciful and unbelievable. The beasts of the Chinese traditional culture are usually from ShanHaiChing or its derivative in the relationship of the description. The study of ShanHaiChing and relevant literature is never interrupted. After opening up, the influx of western culture and art of the domestic had brought a lot of impact to the research of Chinese traditional culture and artistic image. The author thinks that scholars and designers should examine the traditional culture be more from a new perspective, combine the characteristics of Chinese and western art. On the basis of keeping the original culture essence inheritance and innovation, establish a cross-cultural field, to interpret the artistic features of the local natural and cultural phenomenon. The study of Chinese traditional sculpture and Angle of ShanHaiChing literature research have a new progress in recent years, learning and mastering these research results may help to deep and rich images of Chinese traditional art creation.This paper mainly take the image creation of ShanHaiChing beasts as the point a. The beasts are different from general tradition secular. It is more restricted by ancient aesthetics, is not only a fairy tale of artistic image, is also the most intuitive of ShanHaiChing, thus are important materials for study of ShanHaiChing.Study the historical information of ShanHaiChing, combining textual research and the Ming and Qing ShanHaiChing figure study as the point for the beasts image design. The text is divided into four chapters, the first chapter Introduction, mainly to this article the research background and present situation of the research object and methods, elaborates the research purpose and meaning. The second chapter Summary of ShanHaiChing, eulogized the figure a brief introduction, analysis of the ancient Ming and Qing dynasties" ShanHaiChing figure "expression and artistic characteristics of the image of animals. The third chapter the current situation of Chinese sculpture art and the value, briefly expounds the artistic features of Chinese traditional sculpture as well as the status quo of Chinese sculpture art, and in view of globalization and under the influence of traditional culture is analyzed the development of Chinese contemporary sculpture art meaning and value of product. The forth chapter Design of the Beasts, will be in my graduation design choose50animals image of the original description and picture image analysis of the ancient Ming and Qing dynasties, with contemporary sculpture design and production technique of traditional art image design again.This article described the ShanHaiChing, etc in the world of ancient beasts image input to design, through the interpretation of traditional culture and contemporary sculpture design gimmick to re-examine, inherit and innovate the traditional artistic image and the traditional culture.
