Chinese traditional pattern is a cultural treasure, which has a long history. Having existed for thousands of years, it still exudes endless charm. It develops along with the development of social civilization and, always stays close to the good wishes of the public, which reflects the unique Chinese traditional culture. It is the graphic expression of the ancient Chinese spiritual sustenance and aesthetic ideas about happy life. With the development of economy and the fierceness of industry competition, brand image design gets more and more attention from all social circles. Today, Chinese art design is influenced by international styles to a large extent. In order to highlight personality, designers can use Chinese traditional patterns in the design. For contemporary designers, the challenge is to promote understanding of the spiritual meaning of the traditional culture, combine the Chinese traditional patterns and modern design concepts properly, and make use of such combination in modern brand image design.This paper gives a detailed description of traditional Chinese auspicious patterns, its categories of topics, artistic styles, cultural implications and application in the auto beauty brand image design. On the basis of literature review, this paper will focus on the following points.1.Understanding and application of China's traditional patternsThe traditional pattern is the expression of Chinese traditional culture, and the artistic expression of traditional values, world outlook, philosophy and the crystalizaion of the Confucianism, Buddhism, an Taoism. Its pursuit of harmony and happiness is the common goal of Chinese people. Chinese traditional culture has a long history, broad and far-reaching meaning. In brand image design, only by understanding the quintessence of the culture can we express its beauty, meaning and spirit in the design. " Only in this way can we make the brand with Chinese cultural connotation.2. Application of traditional patterns in the unicorn car beauty brand imageWith the increasing demand of auto beauty market, auto related industries have become involved in the car beauty market, coupled with the addition of some foreign automobile companies, which makes the car beauty industry more competitive. China's automotive beauty institutions, which are represented by the Unicorn car beauty, urgently need to improve their own structural system in order to win in the market. It is an attempt to apply the unicorn in the design of unicorn car brand image. The image the unicorn are reproduced in modern design to explore the brand image design so as to bring out the potential cultural connotation embedded in the pattern, which should be combined with the spirits displayed in the Unicorn Auto Beauty brand to establish the individual liking for brands shows its power of value in the competitive auto beauty market.
