| This thesis is a reflective report on the simulated consecutive interpreting practicebased on the source texts from the China (Jilin)-Europe, America and OceaniaBusiness Meeting from September15thto17th,2014. The author attended the meetingas a volunteer interpreter.As a part of this international business meeting, the introduction and promotionsection is of great significance, in which many provincial and municipal leaders ofJilin province and the representatives of enterprises from home and abroad werepresented. However, the author was not given the chance to do the interpreting due toher lack of on-site interpreting experience and the importance of this section as well.In honor of participating in this meeting, the author chose three speeches of themeeting, which are clearly recorded, as a material for her stimulated consecutiveinterpreting practice.The author aims to analyze her merits and deficiencies in the SCI to offerstrategies for her better interpreting in the future. At the same time it also hopes to behelpful to other interpreting learners.The thesis consists of six parts including the introduction and conclusion. Theintroduction gives a panoramic view of the report. Chapter one informs thebackground of the meeting, the task of the practice, and the process of thetranscription. Chapter two clarifies the text analysis before the interpreting practice.Chapter three highlights the quality assessment of the practice. Chapter four providesthe solutions to the deficiencies in the author’s interpreting. The conclusion offerssuggestions for further enhancement. |
