The poets of the Manchurian imperial clan were an indispensable part of the history of literature in the early Qing Dynasty. They had bold and plain natural instincts. And they were gradually influenced by the culture of the Han nationality, immersed in the deep cultural ocean.Domestic academia has made great progress in the research on the Manchurian imperial clan, but the researches on Boerdu are only a few.As a member of imperial clan, Boerdu had lived a rich life since he was born. But his life wasn’t always smooth. He lost his father when he was young. He lost three wives and children at his adulthood. He almost had no political achievements during his lifetime. So he made friends to pass the time. This paper contains four parts. The first part introduces Boerdu’s family and his friends. The second part introduces the content and the ideas of Boerdu’s poems and the analysis is based on Boerdu’s Wenting Poetry, which was published in 1696.The third part analyses the artistic characteristics of his poems and the genre of his poems is diverse, including the pre-Tang poetry and the modern-style poetry. He was better at the modern-style poetry than the pre-Tang poetry. And the final part discusses his artistic achievements and his influence.Among the Manchurian imperial clan,Boerdu’s poems are of a high order in the early Qing Dynasty. He abandoned ethnic prejudice and made friends with Han litterateurs, which promoted national integration and cultural exchange. Boerdu’s poems and his personality have much effect on literature.
