Vanguard novelists absorb and refer the western literary theory, pursue personal subject spirit, clear up the established historical consciousness; their works show the trend of “turning inwardâ€, focus on "literary form style consciousâ€, and emphasizes the self-discipline of literature. Ge Fei is a key member of the vanguard novels and he is known for the creation of narrative trap in the ideological trend and the philosophic thinking of the problems such as individual existence.However, since the 1990 s, with the impact of the tide of the market and the dilemma that vanguard novels creation faced, vanguard novels gradually retreated and some vanguard novelists became lost in the impact of the tide of commodity economy, and began to cater to the market.
