On The Loneliness Consciousness In Ge Fei 's "Jiangnan Trilogy"

As one of the most influential writers in the contemporary literary field of China, Ge Fei’swriting has been always concerned by people, especially the “trilogy of Jiangnan”------Face LikePeach Blossom, Mountains and Drivers Coming into Dreams and Spring Ends in Jiangnan. Thisworkpiece got rid of the preface of exploring the Pioneer Literature form, and came out with theresponse and return to tradition, so the “Trilogy of Jiangnan” indicates that Ge Fei has successfullyturned in his writing. The “Trilogy of Jiangnan” states a story that one family of three generationspursues of Revolutionary utopia and finally fails in it in nearly100years from the Revolution of1911to1980s. During this unstable history, intellectuals has always been around by a lonelyconsciousness, which not only in their helpless life but also in their sprit world. From this angle ofview, Ge Fei gives a clear thought of history and the present, and with his penetrant statement, theliving problems and spiritual dilemma individuals face when time changes have been presentedthoroughly.Recently the critics’ research on “Trilogy of Jiangnan”, which has achieved fruitful results,mainly focuses on Ge Fei’s pondering over intellectuals’ Revolutionary Utopia dreams, his transitionof writing and narrative method, but the lonely consciousness in “Trilogy of Jiangnan” has not beennoticed well. Based on the results of other researchers, this paper takes the lonely consciousness as itsresearch objects. By analyzing the text, this paper illustrates in fours aspects----the introductionanalyzes the historical background and reasons of Ge Fei’s transition of wrting, and points out thedifference between the “Trilogy of Jiangnan” and his past works. The second part presents the textof lonely consciousness, analyzes the living dilemma and anxiety when they fall into revolutionaryloneliness, love loneliness and language loneliness; The third part explores the developing tracks ofthe society’s inner spirit of China, and by analyzing the figuring the lonely ones, the existence oflonely consciousness is intensified and affirmed.The last part via the analyzing significance of hisattention to lonely consciousness: loneliness is the beginning of thinking independently, and is therequirement of keeping awake. We should envisage loneliness, review the society and our insidedeeply in loneliness, and make the loneliness a power of self-reflecting and getting though thehardness.
