The author selected an academic lecture delivered by Prof. Zeng Lisha from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies as practical material for this simulated interpreting. The theme of this lecture is Discourse Translation Analysis: Interpretation of the Textual Meaning From the Experiential and Constructive Perspective. On the basis of the record and memory of the author, this report combines with a variety of examples or cases and also contains of relevant theories to analyze these cases and a full conclusion about this interpreting. As a qualified interpreter of academic lectures, the interpreter must understand features of academic lectures and appropriately use consecutive interpreting strategies to ensure the success of interpreting task.This report consists of four chapters, the task description, the procedure description, interpretation preparation, the case analysis as well as the summary and conclusion. The task description has a brief introduction about the task including the time, place, audience and relative information.Interpretation preparation includes the collection of the academic lecture and analysis on text features of the lecture and makes a good preparation for this interpreting task.According to the consecutive interpreting basic skills and features of discourse structures of interpreting, the author made a reasonable analysis of typical cases and correct errors and shortcomings. At the end of the report, a profound conclusion was conducted by the author. It is a requisite quality for an interpreter to lay a solid foundation of bilingual interpreting. As for the difference between interpreting and translation, interpreter must have good psychological qualities and strong heart to cope with interpreting problems and difficulties on spot. There is a long term to cultivate interpreting competence, and interpreter should seriously interpret each task, then make an overall conclusion about it which is fairly important in interpreting training. The expectation of this report is that it can provide valuable resources for interpreters in simulated consecutive interpreting and enlighten their future interpreting.
