Simulated Consecutive Interpreting Practice Report—A Case Study Of The Speech Of Minzhao Dongyuan,the Chairman Of HITACHI

The corpus selected of this practice report is a speech video of the current chairman of the board of HITACHI,Minzhao Dongyuan,from YouTube in 2017.The speech lasts about 57 minutes and has a total of more than 12,000 words.It was the largest speech of HITACHI Group from the 2017 HITACHI Tokyo Social Innovation Forum which was held in Chiyoda-ku,Tokyo from November 1st to 2nd.In this forum speech,Minzhao Dongyuan,the executive general manager and CEO,introduced to guests and customers the most sophisticated technologies,products and solutions in a wide range of fields brought about by the social revolution,with the theme of "leading social innovation in the changing world".This paper is a report on interpreting practice,which is based on the author’s own way of simulating consecutive interpreting.This interpretation practice report consists of five parts.The first part is the purpose and significance of the topic selection in this practice report,the second part is the background and content introduction of this practice subject,the third part is the process of simulating the practice of consecutive interpretation,the fourth part is the case analysis,and the fifth part is the summary of this practice.In the first chapter,the author mainly introduces the important role of interpretation and the purpose and significance of choosing the topic.The second chapter is about the background and main content of the subject.In the third chapter,the author divides the task into two: pre-translation preparation and translation.In the process of pre-translation preparation,the author has made a series of preparations,such as predicting the content of the translation,summarizing relevant technical terms,translating practical exercises to improve his listening level and translation ability.In the case study of Chapter 4,aiming at the problems encountered in the process of translation,the author analyses and summarizes the causes of errors,hoping to provide some reference for the author and other translators.Finally,in the part of practice summary,the deficiencies and gains of this interpreting practice arediscussed,and the inspiration and feelings for myself are also discussed.In the case analysis,I selected the translation problems and translation errors encountered in the process of translation as translation cases.The last part of the summary is mainly divided into two aspects: one is to summarize my own translation deficiencies,find out the translation loopholes and defects,and improve them;the other is to summarize my translation ability and translation skills through this translation.It has been improved and promoted on average,and has an overall grasp and understanding in my future translation work.
