| The thesis is a practice report based on the English to Chinese consecutive interpreting in the conference context. Through simulating the “collection of the special topic presentations on 2014 Asia-Europe Forum on Education(AEFE)â€, this report analyzes from the practical perspective the whole process of the English to Chinese consecutive conference interpreting activities, including the preparation before interpretation, interpreting at the conference and evaluation after the interpreting.During analyzing the interpreting activities, the interpreter finds that language competence is essential, but non-linguistic competence, such as comprehensive capacity for original information analysis, logical reasoning capacity, brain memory capacity, public speech capacity and the ability to adapt to changing situations etc., influences the interpreter’s language performance and understanding of the listeners, which influences the results and effect of the interpreting process.At last, the author introduces three factors of interpreting quality, summarizes problems occurred in the interpreting process and provides solutions. By figuring out the problems and addressing them in practice, the interpreter can effectively improve his or her interpreting capacity and successfully complete the interpreting tasks. |
