This report is on E-C consecutive interpreting simulation of an interview. It mainly studies that when there is a big difference between the two languages and the thought cannot be expressed in the form of the source language, two interpreting techniques of amplification and omission are used to reorganize the interpreting.Omission can make the language concise, compact, clear and helpful to highlight new information.Quirk and other scholars call it “grammatical omission”.Omission is not an arbitrary omission, nor is it an omission of the content and information of the original text.It is an expression which can better express the original information on the basis of being faithful to the original.Amplification defines that on the basis of the original text, necessary words, clauses and even the whole sentence are added to make the interpreting conform to Chinese customs in terms of grammatical structure, rhetorical features and expression mode,so as to make the interpreting equivalent to the original text in terms of content, form and spirit. Therefore, the added words must be indispensable in syntactic structure, semantics, style and context. All of these methods which provide theoretical guidance for interpreting practice are mentioned, analyzed and followed by examples and revisions. It can help interpreters solve problems which emerge in practice.
