The Study On The Verb’s Aspect Of Chenghai Min Dialect In Guangdong Province

Chenghai dialect belongs to the Chaoshan dialect, Minnan area of Min dialect. Itplays an important role in Minnan dialect.Until now no one has been study on the verb’ s aspectof Chenghai dialect.Firstly, the thesis makes a detailed description and analysis of the verb’s aspect of Chenghaidialect, including the progressive aspect，the durative aspect，the completed aspect，theexperienced aspect， the short aspect， the trying aspect， the continuing aspect，the already aspect， the repeated aspect，the casual aspect，the antecedent aspect，the duplicateaspect and the reversed aspect. We descript their grammatical meaning and syntactic distribution.Secondly, we make a further research on some special aspects. We attempt to take advantageof the special aspects to analyze the verb’ s aspect deeply. In progressive aspect，durativeaspect，experienced aspect，short aspect、continuing aspect and reversed aspect，we find outthere exit the time and space conversion in the aspect marker; in short aspect and tryingaspect,we find out there exit the dual-purpose of the verb’ s aspect marker.Thirdly, we make a summary of the verb’ s aspect system and disscuss the dual-purpose ofthe verb’ s aspect marker in starting aspect and other aspect.Finally, we compare the verb’ s aspect of Chenghai dialect with other dialects in Chaoshanto find out their similarities and differences and then build up the verb’ s aspect system ofthe Chaoshan dialect on the whole. What’ s more，we pose some problems for further research.
