Almost adolescents’are students, which is a community be attention in society. At this stage, adolescents have undergone great changes. Adolescent’s cognitive of psychological activity is incomplete, the physical maturity and psychological maturity is not synchronized, so that they experienced more setbacks than adults, and perceived generated stress.With the physical and mental development of young people has become more and more mature. The goal of this study was to analyze the relationship between self-esteem, perceived stress, interpersonal relationships, and gender among adolescents. We established a mediation model, a moderation model, and a moderated mediation model to test the relationships using data from1614adolescents (both boys and girls) ages13-19. We used RSES, PSS, IRS to survey the1614first grade students of senior high school in Xi’an City. We use descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, t text, regression analysis, mediation analysis, moderated mediation analysis and moderation analysis. The results as below:(1) The boys’score of self-esteem was higher than girls; the girls’score of perceived stress was higher than boys; the interpersonal relationship score for girls was higher than boys.(2) Adolescents’ self-esteem and interpersonal relationships showed a positive correlation; adolescents’self-esteem and perceived stress showed a positive correlation; adolescents’ perceived stress and the interpersonal relationship showed a positive correlation.(3) The score of self-esteem, perceived stress, interpersonal relationship and interpersonal relationship’s dimensions were differences in different gender. There were showed significant gender differences in same-sex peer relationship, opposite-sex peer relationship and general interpersonal relationship. (4) Adolescents’ perceived stress mediated the relationships between self-esteem and same-sex peer relationships, opposite-sex peer relationships, parent-child relationships, and teacher-student relationships.(5) Moderated mediation analyses further revealed that perceived stress mediated the relationships between self-esteem and same-sex peer relationships, opposite-sex peer relationships, and the parent-child relationship for girls, but not boys. Perceived stress did not mediate the relationship for either girls or boys in teacher-student relationships.(6) And the perceived stress moderated the relationship between self-esteem and same-sex peer relationships, but the effect not in other interpersonal relationships.With increasing the burden of studies, the students’ pressure gradually increase. This requires to pay more attention to the training of adolescents self-esteem, in order to help young people to establish a good interpersonal relationship, to improve the level of mental health.
