Adolescent Interpersonal Relationship And Idolatry:Mediating Role Of Self-esteem | | Posted on:2020-04-27 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:L J Xue | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2415330578971341 | Subject:Applied psychology | | Abstract/Summary: | | | Adolescent idolatry is a common phenomenon in today’s society.In this study,335 middle school students in Tianjin were selected as subjects to study the causes of adolescents’interpersonal relationship,self-esteem and idolatry.The scale of adolescents’ idolatry reasons was compiled.The internal mechanism of interpersonal relationship and self-esteem in adolescents’idolation was investigated.The problem of adolescent idolation was analyzed comprehensively and deeply.This paper studies this problem from two parts.The first part is the compilation of the Youth Idol Worship Reasons Scale.The scale is divided into three dimensions,moral character,physical attraction and influence.The moral qualities of idolatry include modesty,sincerity and willingness to help others;the external attractiveness of idolatry includes temperament,good stature and high appearance;and the influence of idolatry includes strength,self-confidence and bravery.The reliability of Alpha is 0.898 by using 7-point meter subscale,which has a high reliability.The second part studies the relationship between adolescents’interpersonal relationships,self-esteem and the causes of idolatry.The results show that:1.The interpersonal relationship of adolescents is slightly disturbed,boys are more disturbed than girls in heterosexual communication.2.Adolescents’self-esteem development is better.3.The adolescents worship idols mainly in three aspects:the moral character of idols,appearance attraction and influence.The influence of idolatry of senior middle school students is more obvious than that of lower middle school students.Girls value the attractiveness of idols more than boys.4.Adolescents’interpersonal relationships are positively correlated with self-esteem,moral character,physical attractiveness and influence.Self-esteem was positively correlated with moral quality and physical attractiveness.5.Adolescents’interpersonal relationships and self-esteem predict moral quality and physical attractiveness to varying degrees,and interpersonal relationships predict influence.6.Self-esteem plays a completely mediating role in the relationship between interpersonal relationships and the causes of idolatry. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | adolescents, interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, idolatry | | Related items |
