With the constantly pushing forward of globalization, China’s hotel industry has reached such a rare development peak as to attract numerous domestic and foreign investors, transferring its low-end market into "a shrine of fortunes". Guangzhou, as a commercial center in South China, has boosted its drastic development of hotel industry in recent years with both supplies and quantities soaring greatly. In order to meet customers’ needs at home and abroad, a variety of star-rated hotels have gradually launched bilingual profiles. However, after careful analysis of the collected bilingual hotel profiles, the author finds that the majority of English profiles are heeling over the fashion and teeming with a great number of translation problems, such as spelling and grammatical mistakes, even inappropriate expressions resulting from the negligence of stylistic, logical and cultural distinction between Chinese and English. Not only will these improper interpretations hinder the foreign readers’ understanding of the original text with the result of communicative failure, but also will infringe on the commercial promotion of the hotel as well as the development of hotel industry as a whole.Despite the urgency of improving the translation quality of hotel profile, there are no adequate researches at present, most of which are more or less the holistic or diagnostic summary of personal experience, let alone the specific case study on the C-E translation of hotel profiles in Guangzhou. The paper shall make a detailed analysis of bilingual hotel profiles in Guangzhou, demonstrate the various translation mistakes and the possible causes that result in these mistakes, elaborate the enlightenment of Adaptation Theory on hotel profile translation, and put forth four effective translation techniques under the guidance of Adaptation Theory and another three feasible suggestions on improving the current translation situation of bilingual profiles in Guangzhou.
