With continuously strengthening of the globalization, the continuously deepeningof the economic development and the continuously intense of the economiccompetition, China faces more and more challenges in the international economiccompetition. It is beneficial for meeting with the challenges and creating opportunitiesby learning about economic laws and theories. In this circumstance, many foreigneconomic works have been introduced into China and welcomed by people in theeconomic field as learning sources.Due to the regional and cultural differences, thefeatures of high logicality and the numerous professional terms in the originaleconomic texts, the obstacles emerge for readings and understanding by Chinesereaders. The demand for the Chinese translation of the English economic textsbecomes natural.The Common Sense Economics coauthored by James D. Gwartney (US)(2007)is one of fundamental economic book. It introduces professionally the economiccommon senses and economic theories in details.The aim for selecting this book asthe source text for this translation practice is to analyze and discuss difficulties andcountermeasures in the Chinese translation of English economic texts.This article analyzes and summarizes the English translation of the first twochapters of the book from the two dimensions oflexical and syntactical forms, voiceand word order, so as to provide translation experience and enlightenment for suchtext translation.
