This translation text is selected from an environmental economics work named The Green Economy and the Water-Energy-Food Nexus(Chapters 4-5).The content mainly describes how New York City and Singapore use financial and non-financial tools to address water,energy,food shortages and the goal of conserving these resources.The source text is the type of informative text.Guided by the Katharian Reiss' s text typology theory,the translator will analyze and summarize the text from the lexical level,syntactic level and non-linguistic contexts.And the case study is mainly discussed in there parts including the diction and extension of words,principles and methods of translation in long sentences,the translation of passive sentences in combination with attributive clauses or adverbial clauses and various kinds of subordinate clauses,and the influence of non-linguistic contexts on translation.It is hoped that the translation can be used as a reference for environmental and economic text translation and for professionals in the environmental and economic fields.
