Consecutive Interpreting Practice Report On BOM System Training In Sino-Japanese Automobile Company

As a student majoring in English Interpreting, he should persist in improvingbi-lingual language proficiency, read widely to have some knowledge of many fields, andgrasp the specialized knowledge of a certain field. It is necessary for him to continuouslypractice each interpreting skills and techniques and cultivate good psychological quality.At the same time, he should try to participate in interpreting practices, applying theseinterpreting skills and techniques in the real scenario and improving the weak items. Bymeans of combining these two aspects, the overall interpreting competence could beachieved and the target of a good interpreter be attained.The author has taken several interpreting projects in foreign-funded companies. Thisdissertation is a consecutive interpreting practice report, describing an interpretingpractice in Sino-Japanese Dongfeng Nissan Automobile Co., Ltd. This interpreting tasklasts for two weeks and it involves consecutive interpreting provided for the trainingcourse on BOM System.The author introduces the background and the preparatory work for this interpretingpractice, which includes the collection of the related information and technicalterminology and analysis of training participants. He first introduces the generalinterpreting scenario. Next, by means of analyzing the original speeches and theinterpreting scripts, he explains the interpreting strategies and skills applied in theinterpreting process respectively in a detailed way. He also presents the case study and itsanalysis, including English Variants (Japanese-way English and French-way English) andCross-cultural Communication. In addition, he makes an evaluation of the interpretingperformance during the training course in an objective way.At the end of the dissertation, the author draws some conclusions in the form of asummary at the end of this paper, in order to improve interpreting performance in thefuture.
