As a Mongolia hero epic,<Jangar>is not only one of the three Chinese epic, butalso a famous long epic in the world. Later scholars have provided many perspectivefor the study,these scholars, who have roughly formed a scale, have research itsystemically, and made a great achievement. In China, there have been manyprogresses in this domain as well.The villain role plays an important role in narrative form, and it is same withthe villain role in the <Jangar>.However,this paper will not pay much attentions onthe relationship between the role and narrative form, but on the social and culturalinnotation of the role which is ignored by Propp. So,this paper is a complement tothe villain role theory of Propp, and also use historical and religional and literaturetheory to research it. Beforehand, no body have research the villain role separately.As a result, this paper has a groundbreaking influence in the research of villain role of<Jangar>This paper consists of five chapters, the introduction mainly discuss domesticand foreign research status The first chapter mainly discuss "Jangar" in the angle ofimage, the image was divided into different kinds: the role of tyrannical Khan;2, therole of ferocious warrior;3, the role of fierce father;4, a variety of demons andghosts image. The second chapter mainly discuss the religious culture reflected by thevillain image, which is related with Buddhist and Shaman ismand factors. The thirdchapter discuss that the relationship between the villain role and symbol of Mongoliaculture which contains a number of symbolic culture and symbolic colorculture. Thefourth chapter traces the historical scent of struggle between good man and bad man,which reflect the social status and the quality of the war in that time. The last chaptersummarizes the content of the paper.There is a contrasting between good man and bad man in <Jangar>, and we havemany questions to research with the villain role. This paper just make somesuperficial discussion, which aims to call for more deeper research.<Jangar> reflectthe Mongolia’s spirit and tradition and power. We hope make <Jangar> morerenowned through the research on the villain role in this paper. |
