This article attempts to profoundly investigate Confucius’saying "I agree with Tien" in the Analects, to exam several comments on this chapter, and then to make some arguments to illustrate the answering intentionality behind the classical texts. After having studied the Analects as a whole and the indications of sentences " in the late spring" and "on the Rain Dance Altar" carefully, accompanied with the intention of the positive attitude of the Confusianism, we’11come up with the true meaning of Confusius’saying "I agree with Tien", thus make clear Confusius’ambition. Briefly speaking, what Confisius meant was that Tseng Tien described the harmonious scene in which the Tao had already been realized throughout the would, the method of realizing that is the teaching via ritual and music--both of which were indicated by the sentence " enjoying the breeze on the Rain Dance Altar, and then return home singing". |
