The studying object of this topic is ritual music of Shaman in Keerqin. Beginning with examination on the process of Shanman's rite in Keerqin, this paper, inspired by the conception of "music of culture" firstly presented by A. P. Merriam, an ethnomusicologist in U.S, mainly focuses on the ritual music by the way of investigation in the local field. The author of this paper takes advantage of varieties of research methods such as musical morphology, culture-anthropology and folklore, etc. to analyze Shanman's rite of Keerqin and musical structure, to interpret its cultural origin, so as to objectively present performance and function of Shanman's ritual music in Keerqin and reveal the interactive relationships among belief system, rite and ritual music. Meanwhile, it also concerns about exploration on the cultural significance of Shanman's ritual music.Shanman ceremony in Keerqin has its long history, and it can be traced back to the witchcraft and religion activities in ancient times. During its history, "Mongolia luck" is contributing a lot to infiltration and accumulation of its traditional culture. Rite and music accompanying rite becomes an integral whole. Though times goes by, Shanman's rite music has never changed, and finally, it has become the valuable culture heritage of Mongolia in Keerqin.In this paper, Chapter one describes the overview of Mongolian history, geography, language, custom and ethnic arts; Chapter two is recording on individual case of the ceremony. It elaborates and studies the time, location, space, procedures, characters and music and performance of Shanman's ritual music of Keerqin in its context; Chapter three talks about the makings, symbols and patterns characteristic of ritual music, and it also gives analysis and conclusion on ritual music; Chapter four interprets Shanman's rite as well as its music from the perspective of culture explanation, which mainly explanation of rich cultural connotation of Shanman's rite music from the function of music and the traditional accumulation of music.
