The Research And Analysis Of Inverse Morphemes Idioms In Modern Chinese

Inverse morphemes idioms refer to those idioms which have same morphemes butdifferent order. Idioms are set phrases with the characters of written language color, integralmeanings and fixed structure, but it doesn’t mean that the form of idioms is invariable. Thephenomenon of idiom deformation dose exist in Chinese dictionary, idiom dictionary, somewriters’ works, magazines and newspaper. The study object of this paper is the inversemorphemes idioms which only change the order of morphemes, including Synonym Idiomswhich adjust the order but not change the meaning, and those idioms whose meaning andgrammar functions change after the order changes.On the basis of previous studies, this paper defines the inverse morphemes idioms bythe “Universal the allogeneic idiom dictionary”“Modern Chinese Dictionary”(5th edition),“Modern Chinese idiom Standard Dictionary”,“Chinese Idiom Dictionary”and related papers.The study and analysis of the order and grammar of the inverse morphemes idioms show theformal characters and grammatical of inverse morphemes idioms. In addition, this analysisalso shows that idioms with paratactic structure are prone to change the order, and analysesthe features of inverse morphemes idioms with paratactic structure. The paper tries to explainthe changing order reasons from the structure types and meaning of idioms. In addition tostatic description, this paper makes use of the Corpus of Center for Contemporary ChineseLiguistics PKU(referred to as CCL Corpus) to study the usage of basic form and changingorder of inverse morphemes idioms in every group, and attempts to understand thecharacteristics of inverse morphemes idioms from grammatical function and semantic level.This paper can be divided into four parts, including the definition of inverse morphemesidioms, the study and analysis of morpheme order, grammar, and the meaning of the inversemorphemes idioms.
