This study mainly uses nine grammatical morphemes as a medium to investigate the grammatical morpheme acquisition order of junior high school students in English.Based on the acquired English grammatical morpheme acquisition order,this study used experimental methods to compare grammar teaching between the grammatical morpheme acquisition order and textbook order,and analyzed the effects of the two grammar teaching orders.Three research questions are put forward:(1)What are the sequences and characteristics of grammatical morphemes acquisition of junior high school students?(2)What is the effect of grammatical morpheme acquisition sequence teaching on students’ grammar learning?(3)What are the difficulties of grammar morphemes’ teaching and learning?The subjects in the study are the teachers and students in the third grade of a middle school in Hangzhou,Zhejiang Province.This study conducted grammar tests,writing tasks,questionnaires and interviews from September to December,2019.The findings are:(1)Chinese students have a certain acquisition order in the acquisition of nine grammatical morphemes.(2)Grammar teaching based on grammatical morpheme acquisition order and textbook order is helpful for students’ grammar performance,and grammar teaching in the order of grammatical morpheme acquisition is more effective than the order of textbooks.(3)In grammar learning,students at different levels show great differences in learner factors.(4)Teachers attach great importance to grammar teaching,but they do not pay attention to the order of grammatical morpheme acquisition of students.The implications from this study are:(1)Grammatical morpheme acquisition order can be a helpful way to teach and learn grammar.(2)Teachers need to take into account learner factors and proficiency of students at different levels.(3)Teachers should improve their ability to integrate teaching materials. |
