This thesis is a study comparing the inverse morpheme word pairs in Chinese and Korean vocabulary. Even though the amount of inverse morpheme word pairs in each language is not that big, they occupy an important position in vocabulary study and make each language richer and more vivid. The purpose, scope and method of this thesis are based on the results of previous studies. A study by Piao Yidong referring to the Korean inverse morpheme word pairs, and 321 pairs of inverse morpheme words from Inverse Morpheme Word Pairs Application Dictionary by Yang Yingyao, were used as sources of information when making this study about inverse morpheme word pairs in Chinese and Korean.Except prologue and epilogue, this thesis consists of three parts, which are "Comparative Study on the inverse morpheme words in grammar function and semantic", "Study on the using frequency and acquisition of the inverse morpheme words" and "A case study on the inverse morpheme words between Chinese and Korean".In the "prologue", the research object is clarified, furthermore introducing the current research status with it's inadequacies, significance and method of research. In the second chapter, I analyzed inverse morphemes word pairs in Chinese and Korean vocabulary by part of speech, structural type and semantic type, and also compiled statistics of each type.In the third chapter, I selected the frequently used vocabulary through statistics and based on those data, researched through questionnaires how the Korean students in China acquire the inverse morpheme word pairs. In the fourth chapter, I did a case study about words that Korean students frequently make an error in using. Furthermore, I proposed a teaching method when teaching Chinese as a foreign language to Korean students.I wish this thesis to be a guide line for Korean students to help them easily learn the inverse morpheme word pairs and avoid making mistakes when communicating. Additionally, I hope that it will help Chinese students easily acquire the inverse morpheme word pairs when studying Korean.
