Formation of a comprehensive health assessment scale for the aged in CHONGQING CityResearch Objective: To formulate a comprehensive health assessment scale that is applicable to the aged in hospitals, pension institutions and communities, and to test its reliability and validity, so as to provide a reliable tool to comprehensively and effectively assess the basic health function of the aged, thereby connecting the basic health infor-mation of the aged in hospitals, communities and pension institutions, which is convenient for the aged to be nursed and treated during their treatment referrals among hospitals, communities and pension institutions, thus contributing to the promotion of free flow of pension resources in hospitals,communities and pension institutions.Research Methods: An initial scale was formulated by using literature review, expert consultation and interview with the aged and nurses. In July2014 to October 2015, the initial scale was applied to carry out a cross-sectional site research in terms of 300 old people. With regard to the research results, item discrimination, correlation analysis, ex-ploratory factor analysis and internal consistency test were used to conduct the filter of scale entry, thereby forming a formal scale. In October 2014 to March2015, an survey on 1080 old people was conducted with the formal scale.Analysis of the test-retest reliability, internal consistency, content validity,structure validity, correlation and criterion validity of the survey’s results was carried out, so as to verify the table’s reliability and validity.Research Results:(1) Based on literature review, expert consultation,population in-terview and population survey, this project formulates the BGA table, and the assessment content includes four dimensions of physical function, self-care ability, metal status and social function, a total of 37 entries;(2) The average time for completing the scale is(11.75±3.21)minutes, which has good feasibility; the scale has good reliability and va-lidity: the total score of the table’s test-retest reliability is 0.959; the total Cronbach’s alpha is 0.952, and the Cronbach’s alpha of each dimension is between 0.673 and 0.919; the scale’s Spearman-Brown coefficient is 0.977, and the Guttman split-half coefficient is 0.898; the content validity index is 0.95; four common factors are gained by factor analy-sis, KMO is 0.946, with a cumulative contribution rate of 65.968%;the correlation coeffi-cient of all entries with the respective dimensions is between 0.479 and 0.890; and the correlation coefficient of each dimension with the criterion scale is between 0.613 and 0.825.Research Conclusions: The comprehensive health assessment scale for the aged in CHONGQING City formulated in this project includes for dimensions of physical func-tion, self-care ability, mental status and social function, with a total of 37 entries, which has good validity and validity,and is suitable for hospitals, communities, institutions, providing a measurement tool for simple and effective assessment of the basic compre-hensive health of the aged.
