Study Of Bellyband And Its Improvement In Pediatric Surgery

Objective:Improving the existed bellyband to design a bellyband that suitable for pediatric surgery and observing the effect of the improved bellyband in pediatric surgery.Methods:This subject analyses several types of bellybands commonly used in clinical, such as the cloth bellyband with multiple ends, the elastic bellyband(elastic band), nylon hasp bellyband and self-adhesive elastic bandage. Each bellyband has its advantages and disadvantages. This subject synthesizes these bellybands’ advantages and improves their shortcomings.This subject shows the characteristics of pediatric surgical patients which are different from adults’ and devises a new type of bellyband. As it is shown in the figure below, this bellyband includes four parts: the band noumenon, the connecting part, the release paper and the tongue-like-extruding. The band noumenon, made by cotton cloth, has three different sizes. The connecting part is coated with adhesive, which selected organic solvent pressure-sensitive adhesive. The release paper and the tongue-like-extruding use glassine release paper.Apply the bellyband to pediatric surgery patients to observe the effect.Results:This new type of bellyband has the advantages of simple manufacturing, convenient employed, comfortable feeling, effectively protection of incision, widely used, low prices,conducive to the promotion and so on.Conclusion:This new type of bellyband is one-off thing, and more suitable for pediatric surgery patients, and promoted easily.
