ObjectiveFor fever pneumonia in children, from theoretical and clinical trials, whether the Modified maxing Gan Decoction Combinedwith routine western me dicineor western medicine treatment can improve the efficacy of the fever symptom. At the same time, The changes of TCM syndromes in different treat ment groups were observed, in order to seek a more effective method for tr eatment of children with pneumonia symptoms improve.MethodsThe pediatric inpatient department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine was taken as the research object. We randomly enrolled 100 cases of Bronchial pneumonia in children, and they were randomly divided into 2 groups, respectively, the experimental group (Modified Maxingshigan Decoction Combinedwith routine western medicine group) 50 cases, the control group (Western medicine treatment group) 50 cases. There was no significant difference in age and sex between the two groups (P>0.05). The control group was treated with intravenous ceftriaxone sodium 20-80mg/kg·d,1 times/day, with the Symptomatic supportive treatment. On the basis of the control group, the treatment group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine decoction, in Maxingshigan decoction. The changes of fever symptomsand syndrome type in two groups were observed.ResultsBy statistical analysis, children’s age, gender, prior to admission of fever continued time of two groups does not have the remarkable difference (P>0.05).The average heating time of two groups of patients were significantly different (P<0.01).The average fever maintenance time of the experimental group was 2.74±1.440 days, and was significantly lower than that in the control group of 3.72±1.565 days. Two groups of children with fever, cough, shortness of breath, sputum symptoms were relieved with the treatment. After the rank sum test, at different time points, mean symptom score of fever, sputum Yong, shortness of breath between the two groups has significant difference (P<0.05), while cough average scores did not differ significantly (P>0.05). The symptoms of fever in experimental group significantly subsided more rapid compared with the control group. And the symptoms of phlegm Yong of the test group appear and relieverelatively faster compared with the control group. The length of stay in two groups were analyzed statistically. The test group, the average hospital stay was 6.84±0.468 days, significantly lower than the control group of 7.24±0.657 days (P<0.05). When the 3 day of admission, the main card type of the two groups of children is wind heat closed the lung and phlegm heat closed lung certificate. But the proportion of phlegm heat closed lung in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group. And the difference between the two groups is very obvious(P =0.029<0.05). In five days after admission and 7 days, the syndrome of the two groups of children evolution tendency is similar, in lung and spleen deficiency syndrome increased significantly, and does not exist significant differences (P>0.05).ConclusionCompared with simple western medicine treatment, reasonable use of modified Maxingshigan Decoction Combined with western medicine in treatment of pneumonia in children with fever, can significantly reduce the heating duration, improve the symptom such as phlegm, shortness of breath, andshorten the children with the syndrome of transition time, to accelerate the disease cured. In the later period of the course of the disease, the different treatment groups were changed to the lung spleen qi deficiency syndrome.
