Objective:To explore serum level of H-FABP and NT-pro BNP in clinical patients by case-control study, and the correlation with CHF and ventricular remodeling. The study may provide certain clinical reference value for early diagnosis, a degree of judgment and prognosis assessment of CHF.Methods:A total of 60 patients with chronic heart failure(CHF group, classed by NYHA II-IV)and 60 cases without heart failure(control group) were enrolled in the same period. Blood routine biochemistry projects included serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT), aspartate aminotransferase(AST), blood urea- nitrogen(BUN), creatinine(CR), total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides(TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), level of NT-pro BNP and H-FABP were detected in both groups. The left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD)and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) were measured in all cases by cardiac color doppler ultrasonic, and detail data about gender, age, body mass index(BMI), history of smoking, drinking, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes and family history of cardiovascular disease were recorded in details. Statistical results were compared by statistical analysis in both groups.Result:1 No statistical significance was noted in gender, age, BMI, history of smoking,drinking, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes and family history of cardiovascular disease in the general data comparison of each group(P>0.05). No statistical significance was noted in ALT, AST, BUN, CR, TC, TG and LDL-C in the clinical data comparison of each group(P>0.05);2 Significant increased of serum NT-pro BNP and H-FABP level was noted in CHF group VS control group(P<0.05), and it was positively correlated with cardiac function classes in each subgroups(r=0.56, r=0.61, P<0.05);3 Significant increased of LVEDD was noted in CHF group VS control group(P<0.05), significant decline of LVEF was observed in control groups VS CHF group(P<0.05);4 No statistical significance was noted in ischemic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, valvular heart disease and primary hypertension(P>0.05);5 Pearson linear correlation analysis revealed that serum level of H-FABP was positively correlated with NT-pro BNP and LVEDD(r=0.72, r=0.67, P<0.05), but negatively correlated with LVEF(r=﹣0.63, P<0.05).Conclusions:The certain relevance may be found between serum level of H-FABP and CHF in this investigation. H-FABP may participate in the occurrence and ventricular remodeling of CHF. Serum H-FABP level can indirectly reflect the severity of heart failure and provide certain clinical reference value for early diagnosis, a degree of judgment and prognosis assessment of CHF.
