Establishing OH&S Management System Of Emerson Corporation

The occupational safety and health issues have increased dramatically with the rapidly developing of the modern enterprise. Due to the fact that Emerson Network Power Co. Ltd.(Emerson) currently lacks of safety management organization, systems and safety culture construction, the accidents is higher than the industry level, which directly impacts on employee morale and corporate reputation, at the same time, it also affects the company’s marketing and business development. However, establishing and maintaining effective occupational safety management system can solve the safety issue above. Therefore, the author hopes to obtain some experience and methods through the research of the system to help the Emerson effective occupational safety management system building, and provides some experience to other similar enterprises in the future system building.Firstly this paper describes the Heinrich causal chain theory, PDCA theory, theoretical analysis of the status of the safety management of domestic and foreign enterprises, consolidation of accident data. Based on the safety status and analysis of Emerson, it also describes the concept of occupational safety and health administration, the standard of occupational safety and health management system(OHSAS18001), and the principle of the system as well.Additionally, this article describes the division of work activities, the theory of how to identify and assess hazard, principles to determine the intolerable risk(major hazards) as well. At the same time, it highlights the division of Emerson’s operational activities, how to control the company’s intolerable risk and other aspects of the practice. Again, in order to ensure system operation "according to the law", the organization must develop manual in line with the Company’s actual operations, the scale of management, as well as the need to ensure that procedure and operation instruction are operable. This paper, in terms of the development of the above-mentioned document, provides with the theoretical requirements and its documentation case.Finally, this paper also focuses on how to conduct full system knowledge training, how to monitor the measurement, internal audit and management review as well as practical case.By using the method of combining theory and practice, this paper describes that the modern enterprise how to establish and maintain occupational safety and health management system.Therefore, this paper carries high reference value for the electronics industry to improve safety management level.
