Objectives: This research aims to discuss the clinical connections between the level of Vitamin D in the infant’s body and bronchiolitis by detecting the level of 25-hydroxy Vitamin D in the serum of bronchiolitis sufferers and by observing the clinical efficacy of Vitamin D against the bronchiolitis. This will provide a new theoretical basis and clinical thinking to prevent and remedy the bronchiolitis for infants. Methods: Randomly pick 200 bronchiolitis sufferers, who are admitted to Peditrics Ward Area No. 1 in Yan’an University Affiliated Hospital for treatment from September2014 to June 2015, and the method of random number table is applied to divide them into Vitamin D Treatment Group and Non-Vitamin D Treatment(100 sufferers respectively).Non-Vitamin Treatment Group sufferers are only given the conventional comprehensive treatment while the Vitamin D Treatment Group sufferers are given the Vitamin D treatment for two months besides the conventional treatment. Meanwhile, sixty children of similar age, who come to the same hospital for body check and are proven healthy are used as Contrast Group. The level of 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D in the serum is detected for the Test Group and Contrast Group before any treatment, and it is detected again after the treatment for two months. Meanwhile, respectively record the clinical symptoms, time for symptom alleviation and recovery rate for the Vitamin D Treatment Group and Non-Vitamin D Treatment Group. Re-visit and follow up the sufferers with and without Vitamin D treatment for six months to know about the times of asthma. The software SPSS21.0 is used to statistically analyze the lab data. Results:Firstly, the level of 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D in the serum for the Vitamin D Treatment Group and Non-Vitamin D Treatment Group shows no statistical significance after comparison(P>0.05) before any treatment, but the level of 25-Hydroxy for the sufferers in the test group is lower than that for Contrast Group child sufferers, showing statistical significance(P<0.05).Secondly, the level of 25-Hydroxy in the serum both for Vitamin D Treatment Group and Non-Vitamin D Group Treatment increases after the treatment, and the level for Vitamin D Treatment Group increases more than that for Non-Vitamin D Treatment Group, showing statistical significance(P<0.05).Thirdly, the number of days for the Vitamin D Treatment Group is less than that for the Non-Vitamin D Treatment Group to alleviate asthma, relieve cough and clear up the lung symptoms, showing the statistical significance(P<0.05). The recovery rate of the Vitamin D Treatment Group is higher than that of Non-Vitamin D Treatment Group, showing the statistical significance(P<0.05). The asthma recurrence for the Vitamin D Treatment Group is less than that for the Non-Vitamin D Treatment Group, showing statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:Firstly, Vitamin D deficiency and bronchiolitis development are closely correlated, and Vitamin D deficiency is probably one of the potential causes of bronchiolitis for infants.Secondly, besides the conventional comprehensive treatment used to clinically remedy bronchiolitis, Vitamin D can be used to apparently alleviate the sufferers’ clinical symptom, accelerate the removal of lung symptoms, increase the recovery rate, and decrease the recurrence rate of asthma in half a year for bronchiolitis sufferers.Thirdly, Vitamin D plays an active role in preventing and remedying bronchiolitis for infants.
