Research objectives:Compare curative effects using the different ways that taken to fix the elbow joint to help the function recovery between the Kirschner wire tension band technology and steel screw internal fixation in fixed ulna olecranon bone cutting during the surgery of distal humerus fractures by the olecranon open reduction and internal fixation of bone cutting. Methods:1. Using retrospective study method to make a statistical analysis based on the data of the information of 31 patients cases. These patients all received treatment of complex humeral condyle between condyle fracture that taken the ulna olecranon bone cutting operation method in our hospital.2.Using SPSS20.0 software to analyze the data including operative time, postoperative time of beginning rehabilitation exercise and mean Mayo score of two groups patients’ elbow performance. All the differences are tested by the independent samples T-test. Significant difference test for P <0.05 means that there is a significant difference. Results: 1. 31 patients were followed for 18 months after discharged and two patients were lost to follow-up. One year later, the fracture review X-ray showed that the most of distal humerus fractures were healed and it do not appear olecranon osteotomy nonunion. Only one patient was healed a few days delay. 2. The independent samples t-test results:(1)The patients’ operation time: The time of A group of patients with olecranon osteotomy fixation using tension band technology is less than B group of patients with olecranon osteotomy fixation using locking olecranon plate technology.(2) The time of rehabilitation exercises: The time of A group of patients with olecranon osteotomy fixation using tension band technology is slower than B group of patients with olecranon osteotomy fixation using locking olecranon plate technology.(3)Mayo Elbow Performance rating: The score of A group of patients with olecranon osteotomy fixation using tension band technology is lower than B group of patients with olecranon osteotomy fixation using locking olecranon plate technology. Conclusions:During the surgery of distal humerus fractures by olecranon open reduction and internal fixation of bone cutting, internal plate and screw fixation in olecranon osteotomy has more obvious advantages compared to the Kirschner wire tension band technology and more conforms to biomechanics principles in the extension. It can fix the elbow joint more firmly and is in favor of functional exercise early. Most of all, the elbow joint’ functional rehabilitation is better than expectation.
