Objective: To investigate the operation using tension band technique and conservativeapplication of plaster external fixation in treatment of children with different types ofolecranon fractures, in order to provide the reference for clinical application.Method: Collected in March2012-October2013Affiliated Hospital of ShandongUniversity of Traditional Chinese Medicine in pediatric department oforthopedics ward diagnosed23cases of olecranon fracture. Surgical treatment of16cases,plaster external fixation with conservative treatment in7cases. Male18cases, female5cases, age3-15years old, the average9.4years old. The left side in11cases,12cases of right. Divided in accordance with the mechanism of trauma fracture:18cases of flexion, extension5cases, shear type0cases. All patients were treated withradiographic examination and assessment of soft tissue injury, operation group identifiedthe timing of surgery, surgical treatment, Pay attention to the protection of softtissue surgery, postoperative to plaster external fixation,4weeks after removing thecast to function with rehabilitation,herbal fumigation and wipe, exercise have measures toprevent complications; the conservative groups according to children with fracturehealing to plaster external fixation for4-6weeks, After removing the fixators to takepositive measures to restore the elbow function. Were followed up for6-12months, average8months. The evaluation standard of Weselely for the treatment ofolecranon fracture efficacy assessment.Results: All23cases of children with fracture healing, According Weselely othertreatment of olecranon fractures assessment standards: Excellent in17cases, good in4cases,1cases.All cases had no infection, no fracture displacement, no osteofascialcompartment syndrome, and noloosening, no malunion and delayed fracture healing.Conclusion: Olecranon fracture is a type of elbow injuries in children less common, Usingthe tension band fixation and plaster external fixation in treatment of children is the idealsolution for olecranon fracture. Choose the appropriate treatment, can obtain satisfactorytherapeutic effects of early functional exercise and protection of soft tissue in operation ofchildren with.
