Study On The Clinical Efficacy Of Jiawei-Yupingfeng San In The Treatment Of Post-infectious Cough (Zhengxuxielian Syndrome)

Objective "Post-infectious cough" falls into the category of "the common cough"in the TCM, some patients with lung deficiency in low immunity stature suffer from exogenous pathogenic factor. Vital qi and pathogen struggles. Pathogen lingers due to deficient vital qi. Imbalance of Yin and Yang cause cough for long time. Professor Zhu Jia sets "nourishing Yin and Yang, sustain and protect vital qi" as the basic principle, adding and subtracting with "Yupingfeng san", and uses evidence-based medicine as modern means. He assesses Jiawei-Yupingfeng san treatment of post-infectious cough (Zhengxuxielian syndrome) from multiaspect, providing the guidance for clinical meditation.Methods We conduct clinical research the method of randomized, parallel controlled. The patients were randomly divided into two groups, Chinese traditional medicine group was added flavor to Jiawei-Yupingfeng san treatment while Control group was treated montelukast and Compound Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride Oral Solution for a treatment cycle of 28 days, observing a period of treatment, We use clinical symptoms and signs, Impulse Oscllometry detection airway resistance and immunity as observation indexes. Cases data are using SPSS20.0 software for statistical analysis.Results We collected 73 cases, Chinese traditional medicine group of 41 cases, control group of 32 cases. Chinese traditional medicine group total effective rate was 92.68%, and control group total effective rate was 65.63%. Two groups of total effectiveness by chi-square test P<0.05, means obvious difference. Pulmonary airway resistance such as R5、R20、R5-R20、 X5 was more highly decreased than control group (P<0.05). And the treatment of Chinese traditional medicine grop could improve the level of immune globulin such as IgA, IgG, IgM and C3、C4 which was more effective than control grop (P<0.05)Conclusion Jiawei-Yupingfeng san tonifies qi and strengthens exterior, diffuses the lung and suppresses cough, clears heat and transforms phlegm, relieving sore throat. It can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms, and can reduce airway resistance, airway inflammation, airway hyperresponsiveness and strengthen the body’s immune ability.
