Objective:The purpose of this survey was to explore the present situation of undergraduate nursing students’ subjective well-being, emotional intelligence and perceived social support. To investigate the emotional intelligence, the perceived social support of undergraduate nursing students on subjective well-being, through qualitative research to further analyze the influencing factors of the subjective well-being of undergraduate nursing students, this paper put forward the opinions and suggestions to improve the undergraduate nursing students’ subjective well-being, and put forward the theoretical basis and reference materials for medical college psychological health intervention.Methods:1.Considering the sex of the nursing profession particularity, the male students took the stratified cluster sampling method, female students took the method of stratified random sampling; Select 958 undergraduate nursing students as the research object from Beng Bu Medical College and Wan Nan Medical College in Anhui province. The Questionnaires included:(1) Questionnaire of general demography materials of undergraduate nursing student;(2)Subjective well-being scale;(3)Emotional intelligence scale(EIS);(4)Perceived social support scale(PSSS).Where, Epidata3.1 for data entry,SPSS 17.0 for statistical description, t-test, one-way ANOVA analysis, relative analysis and step wise multiple regression analysis were used.2.On the basis of the questionnaire sixteen undergraduate nursing students were selected in this study, and they were interviewed with the method of semi-structured interview,for investigate on the factors influencing the subjective well-being, further analyzed the undergraduate nursing students’ subjective well-being and related factors in different aspects and angles.Results:1.Subjective well-being scores of the undergraduate nursing students was(4.66±0.83).The difference in subjective well-being was significant among students from different gender, residences, being the only-child or not, grade and professional attitude. Clinical medical students’ subjective well-being scores was lower than undergraduate nursing students, subjective well-being levels of villages and towns and rural areas students lower than the city, non only child students sense of subjective well-being lower than the only child.2.The scores of emotional intelligence and perceived social support of undergraduate nursing students were(3.62±0.63) and(5.21±0.92). The difference in subjective well-being was significant among students from different genders and different grades.Male students’ emotional intelligence scores and perceived social support scores were significantly lower than female students, the grade one and the grade three of the undergraduate nursing students’ emotional intelligence and perceived social support scores were significantly lower than that of the grade two and grade four.3.The result of correlation analysis showed subjective well-being was positively correlated with emotional intelligence and perceived social support; The linear regression analysis showed: perceived social support partially mediated the effect of emotional intelligence on subjective well-being.4.The qualitative interview results showed that emotional intelligence, perceived social support, time management disposition, self-worth, interpersonal communication, study pressure, school hardware facilities also to a certain extent affected the level of nursing undergraduate students’ subjective well-being.Conclusion:1.Undergraduate nursing students’ subjective well-being was in the middle level, the necessary measures should be taken to improve the quality of the level of subjective well-being.2.Emotional intelligence, perceived social support, gender, residences, being the only-child or not, grade, professional attitude, time management disposition, self-worth,interpersonal communication, study pressure and school hardware facilities had different effects on undergraduate nursing students’ subjective well-being level.3.Undergraduate nursing students’ subjective well-being was positively correlated with emotional intelligence and perceived social support. Emotional intelligence, perceived social support can predict the level of subjective well-being. Perceived social support partially mediated the effect of emotional intelligence on subjective well-being.4.Through the questionnaire survey and qualitative interview results show that continuous efforts to fulfill their potential and improve themselves, schools for the psychological characteristics of the various grades to take corresponding measures,family support and care and social respect and understanding, which require all aspects work together to increase the happiness of undergraduate nursing students experience together.
