Research objective:The research is to discuss the influence of "Nursing Humanistic Cultivation" course on the emotional intelligence of undergraduate nursing students.It aims to improve the emotional intelligence and humanistic caring ability of undergraduate nursing students after combining the teaching of the course and the cultivation of emotional intelligence.It also aims to provide new method and path for the teaching reform of nursing hamanistic cultivation course and give some inspirations to the teaching reform of other nursing hnmanistic courses.Methology:Choose from some college100 undergraduate nursing students of class 2016(freshmen)as research subjects.Among them,10 are males and 90 are females and they are all aged from 17 to 21.They are taught by "Nursing Humanistic Cultivation" course in which the cultivation of emotional intelligence is incorporated.A questionnaire is conducted on the researche subjects before and after the incorporation of emotional intelligence in the teaching.The questionnaire includes the four elements of emotional intelligence measurement(emotion perceptivity ability,self-emotional control ability,emotion identification and understanding ability and emotion using ability)the measurment of the humanistic caring ability of college students majoring in nursing.The specific influence of the course on undergraduate nursing students in the two aspects of emotional intelligence and humanistic caring is discussed according to the analysis and contrast of the measuring results before and after the teaching.This study uses SPSS17.0 statistical software to conduct descriptive statistical analysis to test whether the overall mean difference of two paired test is statistically significant.Research results:1.After the teaching of the course,the emotional intelligence score of undergraduate nursing students has improved significantly.First,what has improved the most significantly is emotion perceptivity ability(t=-24.33,P< 0.001).Those contents whose scores have improved significantly include the aspects of feeling others' emotions,knowing well the appropriate opportunity to talk with others,understanding others' non-verbal expressions,having a good command of non-verbal information.Second,the self-emotional control ability of the students has improved significantly after the learning of the course(t=-2.51,P=0.014).Examples of this improvement include being able to control their own emotions or keeping positive moods when experiencing negative feelings.Third,the emotion identification and understanding ability score(t=-0.49,P=0.63)and emotion using ability score(t=-2.51,P=0.014)have improved not significantly and the comparison of the two elements before and after has no statistical significance.2.After the teaching of the course,the humanistic caring ability of the nursing students has improved significantly(t=-22.16,P< 0.001).From the changes of the specific items of humanistic caring ability it can be found the undergraduate nursing students have a better understanding of nurse-patient relationship.It can be concluded that the influence of humanistic cultivation course on them is very significant.Conclusion:1.From the influence of "Nursing Humanistic Cultivation" course on the four elements of the emotional intelligence of undergraduate nursing students,it can be concluded the course can improve the students' emotion perceptivity ability and self-emotional control ability significantly.2.The course cannot improve the emotion identification and understanding ability and emotion using ability of the students significantly,which suggests that based on the current teaching contents and methods,the humanistic cultivation should not be limited to classroom and fixed teaching contents and teaching time,but going to larger and wider space,from in-classroom to outside-classroom.3.After the teaching of the course,the humanistic caring ability of the nursingstudents has improved significantly,which suggests that the teaching mode of combining this course and emotional intelligence cultivation can improve significantly students' humanistic comprehensive qualities and help students understand the true meaning of humanistic caring in nursing humanistic cultivation,grasp humanistic skills and strengthen their comprehensive humanistic qualities.
