Clinical Study On Wind, Cold And Dampness Type Scapul Ohumeral Periarthritis With Fire-needle Therapy

ObjectiveAccording to randomized controlled trial, observe the clinical curative effect of fire needle combined acupuncture and acupuncture combined electroacupuncture therapy in the treatment of wind, cold and dampness type scapulohumeral periarthritis. The results were evaluated to campare their clinical curative differences and figure out clinical significance of the former one.MethodsIn this study,60 patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis met the inclusion criteria were treated as observation cases, from the acupuncture clinic in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine during July 2015 to December 2015. According to randomized controlled methods they were divided into two groups:Treatment group and Control group. Treatment group (30 cases) was treated with fire needle therapy combined with acupuncture treatment. Acupuncture prescription (according to national level planning teaching material of acupuncture and moxibustion treatment):Jianyu(LI15), Jianqian, Jianzhen(SI9), Yanglingquan(GB34), Zhongping, Ashixue and Fengchi (GB20) and Hegu (LI4) as the main points, matching acupoints by channels, mildly reinforcing-reducing; fire needle therapy selected Ashixue (ask the patients to internal rotate, external rotate, comb, touch dorsal with their affected shoulder to look for pain spots around the shoulder) 3-4 points each side, a total of two groups,.The two groups would be alternated to accept fire needle therapy. The acupoints of Control group were the same as Treatment group. filiform needle acupuncture, after arival of qi, connect Jianyu(LI15)-Jianliao(TE14), Jianzhen(S19)-Jianqian, two groups of Ashixue with electroacupuncture instrument, the dense wave, quantity of stimulus up to the patients that could tolerate, other acupoint retained. Treatment last for 30 minutes each time,3 times a week, a total of 10 times, before and after the treatment, Yang’s scapulohumeral periarthritis rehabilitation function assessment scale and visual analogue scale were used to evaluate the curative effect.Results1. Before and after treatment, VAS score, Melle score of the two groups were significantly different (P<0.05). Pain and activity function were significantly improved.2. Groups analgesic effect was obvious. Comparing the treatment group with the control group, the treatment group’s curative effect was better than the control group’s. Difference had the statistical significance (P<0.05).3.The two groups could both improve the activity of shoulder joint function. Compared the treatment group and the control group, curative effect of the treatment group surpassed the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); After treatment, hand to ridge scores of the treatment group were significantly improved than that of the control group (P<0.05).4. The total effective rate of treatment group was 97%, and the cure rate was 20%, the control group total effective rate was 90%, the cure rate was 10%.ConclusionsAfter observation between the two groups in the degree of pain,, joint function before and after treatment, from efficacy analysis, that fire needle combined with filiform needle acupuncture and acupuncture plus electrical treatment were improved significantly on scapulohumeral periarthritis patients. The effect of the former one than the latter was more superior.
