Objective:Assess the preoperative nutritional risk in colorectal cancer patients with stage III, to explore the correlation between nutritional risk and clinical pathology factors. Methods:Adopt the method of retrospective analysis, select the 143 patients with colorectal cancer in stage III who were hospitalized in Guangxi Medical University Affiliated Tumor Hospital of gastrointestinal surgery department from January 2014 to December 2015, using NRS2002 for preoperative nutritional risk screening, at the same time, the correlation of nutritional risk with base condition about gender, age, diagnostic time and clinical factors including location of tumor, tumor size, pathologic gross classification, histological type, tumor differentiation level, invasion depth correlation were studied, and to investigate the affection of nutritional risk to postoperative complications.Results:143 cases of patients with colorectal cancer in stage III, the incidence of preoperative nutritional risk was 28.0% (40/143), among nutritional risk in ascend colon cancer group was 23.1% (6/28), transverse colon was 0% (0/3), descend colon was 18.2% (2/12), sigmoid colon was 17.4% (4/23), rectal was 35% (28/80).The single factor analysis indicated that preoperative nutritional risk was significantly correlated with age, pathologic gross classification, histological type, tumor differentiation level and invasion depth (P<0.05), however not related with gender, diagnostic time, location of tumor and tumor size (P>0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that preoperative nutritional risk factors were age, pathologic gross classification. The comparison of the incidence in postoperative complications betwwen nutritional risk group and no nutritional risk group (27.5%/12.6%), the difference was statistically significant (P< 0.05).Conclusion:Preoperative nutritional risk of colorectal cancer patients in Stage III was correlated with age, pathologic gross classification, histological type, tumor differentiation level and invasion depth. Age and pathologic gross classification can be used as major risk factors for the prediction about nutritional risk. Preoperative colorectal cancer patients with nutritional risk would appear higher incidence of postoperative complications, making preoperative nutritional assessment to colorectal cancer patients in Stage III with such above pathological characteristics, so that we can early discover nutritional risk and make nutritional intervention in time.
