Objectives:The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between three kinds of malnutrition screening tools, preoperative Prognostic Nutrition Index(PNI),Nepal score and Controlling Nutrition Status(CONUT)score, and the incidence of complications and prognosis of patients with colorectal cancer.Methods:372 patients with colorectal cancer undergoing curative operation were retrospectively analyzed.According to preoperative PNI,NPS and CONUT scores, patients were divided into exposure group(with malnutrition risk)and control group(without malnutrition risk).Compare the clinicopathological characteristics between groups.Logistic regression analysis was used to determine the factors affecting the postoperative complications.Kaplan-Meier survival curve was drawn and Log-rank test was used to compare the differences of overall survival between groups.Analyze the factors affecting the overall survival with COX regression. Results:They were significantly different in age,TNM stage, hemoglobin, incidence of incisional surgical site infection(iSSI)and survival curve between PNI<45 group and PNI>45 group, but not in length of hospital stay and other complications after operation.Multivariate analysis indicated that PNI<45 was an independent risk factor for incisional surgical incision infection.COX regression analysis indicated that only age, hemoglobin and TNM stage were the factors affecting overall survival.PNI<45 is an independent risk factor affecting the overall survival of patients with colorectal cancer at TNM stage ?.There were no significant differences in the incidence of complications, length of hospital stay and overall survival between the exposure and control groups, respectively according to NPS and CONUT score. Conclusion:Preoperative PNI is related to age, hemoglobin and TNM stage of patients with colorectal cancer.Preoperative PNI<45 is an independent risk factor for iSSI.Preoperative PNI<45 is an independent risk factor for overall survival of patients with colorectal cancer at TNM stage ?.
