Background and Objective:Primary Retroperitoneal Tumor (PRPT) originate f rom the retroperitoneal space, histologic type include muscle, adipose tissue, ne rves, loose connective tissue, residuary embryonic tissue, fascia, lymphoid tissue and blood vessels, does not include the tumor from the organs in the Retrope ritoneal space (such as ureter, liver, adrenal gland, duodenum, kidney, pancrea s etc) or metastatic tumors from the body of somewhere else. The morbidity o f PRPT is very low, but primary retroperitoneal malignant tumor comprises abo ut 60%-85% of PRPT, the early phase of PRPT is short of typical symptom, i t is widely believed that radical excision is the most effective treatment metho d, medical literature reveal the postoperative recurrence rate of PRMT is 40%-50%.A retrospective review of 212 cases of PRPT in the QiLu Hospital of Sh andong University was performed to research surgical treatment, the factors infl uencing postoperative outcomes and clinical characteristics. Methods:The clinical pathology data of 212 cases about PRPT treated at Qilu Hospital of Shandong University from October 2008 to November2015 were e valuated retrospectively, all of them are confirmed by surgical therapy and post operative pathological. Results:The 212 cases with primary retroperitoneal tumor which 110 ismale,10 2 is female, the sex ratio of female and male is 1:1.08,the median age is 45.5 (interquartile range,30-55),the common clinical symptoms is celialgia and osphy algia(45.8%), abdominal mass(27.8%), abdominal distension(6.6%).The major au xiliary examinations is abdominal sonography and CT. Primary retroperitoneal b enign tumors(PRBT) 93 cases,92(98.9%) underwent complete resection, PRMT 119 cases,91(76.5%) underwent radical excision,11 (9.2%) underwent conservati ve resection and 17(14.3%) surgical biopsies.177 cases is surveyed, the meso-p osition follow-up time is 31 months, among them that 2 cases is dead(not turn or causes) of 83 cases with PRBT,the5-year survival rates of postoperation is 9 5.3%,34 cases is dead of 94 cases with PRMT, the 1-year,3-year,5-year surviv al rates of postoperation is 85.1%,71.7%,51.6%,The 1-year,3-year,5-year survival rates of PRPT patients with complete resection is 92.7%,82.9%,62.7% and tha t of patients with radical excision is 67.7%、41.4%、20.1% and with surgical b iopsies is 45.4%、17.2%、0%.20.5 underwent PRMT resection plus multiple organ resections. The Cox multi-various regression analysis reveal the independ ent risk factors of prognosis is surgical method (surgical removal extent).Conclusion:1、PRPT main clinical manifestations is celialgia and osphyalgia;2、Benign PRPT main pathological type is schwannoma, pheochromocytoma, ma turity teratoma.Malignant PRPT main pathological types is liposarcoma, leiomyo sarcoma, ganglioneuroblastoma;3、Radical surgical resection is the most effective treatment of PRPT;4、Pathological type of tumor, surgical method and recurrencepaly is important roles in recurrence and survival of PRPT. Independent risk factors of prognosis is operation method (surgery resection degree).
