Objective: This study focus on the aging population in Zhuhai, to understand the status of health and to identify risk factors byquestionnaires, so as to provide reliable, scientific and effective basis for government to formulate policies and measures.Methods: Combination of stratified sampling with cluster sampling was to use, and the respondents of survey and physical examinationwere the population of aged 60 and older in Zhuhai. Face to face interview by self-made questionnaires and physical examination. Questionnaires should include: basic information, lifestyle, quality of life and life satisfaction, chronic diseases, health service needs and utilization, forms of entertainment. Physical examination should include: height, weight, waist, hip, ECG, blood pressure, blood sugar, blood lipids, serum trace elements.Results:(1) The ratio of the elderly population had been 12.68% among household population in Zhuhai, 2014, which hadbeen the aging society;(2) Average age of 1109 investigated older population were 67.68 ± 7.13 years old;(3) In terms of lifestyle,the vast majority of older respondents participated in physical exerciseregularly and dietregularly, drinking rate and smoking rate of male respondents were much higher than that of women, the difference were significantlyin fiber intake in diet;(4) Thetop six of prevalence of chronic diseases were hypertension(66.5%), bone and joint diseases(29.7%), eye diseases(16.9%), diabetes(15.7%), heart disease(11.0%) and cerebrovascular disease(6.7%).The rate of overweight and obesity among Zhuhai elderly was accounted for 46.8%, the average rate of abnormal WHR(Waist-to-Hip Ratio)was 70.0%, the actual prevalence of hypertension should be 66.5%, the detection rate washigher 1.73 times thanself-reported, the rate abnormal ECG averaged 34.99%,the rate of dyslipidemia was 61.14%,serum calcium, iron were significantly different between districts;(5)The analysis of multivariate logistic regression showed: with increasing of age, the risk of hypertension and eye disease increased; the risk of women suffering from high blood pressure may be higher than men,overweight, obesity and dyslipidemia may be risk factors for hypertension; drinking may be the risk factor of eye disease and diabetes, overweight and obesity, especially central obesity may be risk factors for diabetes;consumed regularlyof soy products may be protect factor of heart disease;(6) "Two-week prevalence rate" was 26.60% among investigate elderly population, Among them, 86.7% of older people the most needed health services was "regular examination", 74.3% of the elderly sick would to go to the county(district) hospital, and 11% of the elderly did not participate in any medical insurance.Conclusions:(1) The ratio of elderly population increase rapidly in Zhuhai(2) Most of the elderly satisfied with their quality of life,87.8% of the elderly that "satisfied with their life, higher than expected". In lifestyle,generally,lack of exercise, only 53.56% of the elderly often participated in exercising, daily intake of staple grains were less and diet pending need further scientific rationalization.(3) The top six of prevalence of chronic diseases were hypertension(66.5%), bone and joint diseases(29.7%), eye diseases(16.9%), diabetes(15.7%), heart disease(11.0%) and cerebrovascular disease(6.7%). Overweight, obesity and dyslipidemia were risk factors in Zhuhai elderly population.(4) The health services for aging population were betterin Zhuhai, 86.7% of older people the most needed health services was "regular examination", 74.3% of the elderly sick would to go to the county(district) hospital, and 11% of the elderly did not participate in any medical insurance, and the utilization ofprimary health resource need to be improved.
