Objective:To understand the recent situation and influencing factors of the competitive attitude and turnover intention among nurses in Changchun, explore the relationship between the two and determine the main variable factors of nurses’ turnover intention, so as to provide references for administrators to take measures to improve the level of nurses’ competitive attitude,reduce nurses’ leaving idea,and finally promote the healthy and stable development of the nursing team.Methods:The sample consisted of 775 nurses who were extracted conveniently from five three A-level hospitals in Changchun city.Survey tools incorporated a general information questionnaire,competitive attitude scale and turnover intention scale.Epidata 3.1 was adopted to double entry the data,SPSS 13.0 was applied to perform the statistical analysis.Concrete methods that used involved statistical interpretation,t-text,analysis of variance,correlation analysis as well as regression analysis.Results:1.The benign competitive attitude score of the nurses was 44.01±8.52,at the fourth level,77.5% of them were at a medium or a higher level.On the other hand,the hypercompetitive attitude score of the nurses was 40.17±6.56,at the third level,96.7% of them were at a intermediate or a higher level.2.The differences of nurses’ competitive attitude among nurses of three A-level hospitals in infirmary,age(hypercompetitive attitude only),gender,years of working,the title of a technical post,department,duty(benign competitive attitude only) and monthly profit showed striking significance(P<0.05).3.The total mean marks of nurses’ turnover intention was 2.41±0.69,66.2% of them were at an upper or taunt level.Each dimension score sorting:dimension III >dimension I > dimension II.4.The differences of nurses’ departure ideas in hospital,age,working years,the title of a technical post,department,how position,job function and monthly profit showed statistical meaning(P<0.05).5.Nurses’ turnover intention was markedly and negatively related with their personal development competitive attitude(P<0.01),but positively related with their hypercompetitive attitude(P<0.01).6.Regression analysis showed that factors into the regression equation of turnover intention covered the follow:Hospital 3,Hospital 2,≥36 years old,benign competitive attitude,emergency department,nurse practitioner,monthly income.The determination coefficient R2=0.243.Conclusion:1.The overall benign competitive attitude of the nurses was in the medium level.Hospital,gender,years of working,professional title,department,position and monthly income were the impact factors.The excessive competition attitude was in the upper level.Hospital,age,gender,working years,professional title,department and monthly profit were the impact factors.2.Nurses owned a higher level of turnover intention.Hospital,time of life,years of working,the title of a technical post,department,employment status,working position and monthly income were the impact variables.3.A remarkable correlation existed between nurses’ competitive attitude and turnover intention,we can decrease the nurses’ departure through improving their competitive attitude.4.Hospital,age,personal development competitive attitude,department,the title of a technical post and monthly income were the key impact factors, a total of24.3% of the variance was explained.
