Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of abdominal electroacupuncture for treating constipation after apoplexy so as to provide a more simple, convenient and effective treatment for clinical treatment of constipation after apoplexy.Medthods:According to the diagnostic criteria,60 patients were randomly divided into two groups in this study, which included the treament group and the control group 30 cases each. Both groups of patients were treated in accordance with the basis of stroke routine therapy. The first group used abdominal electroacupuncture treatment with bilateral Tianshu, Guanyuan and Zhongwan. Every two acupoints were connected and the positive electrode ran behind the negative one, which made the muscle follow the direction of intestinal peristalsis. The second group used traditional acupuncture treatment. Both groups were treated once a day,30 minutes each,14 days in total. Applying the total clinical symptoms score of constipation, defecation interval time, defecation rate, fecal character, defecation difficulty, desire to defecate, concomitant symptoms and first defecation time as the index. Recording scores and clinical comparatively analysis the treatment outcome.Results:1. After 14 days treatment, the total effective rate in the treatment group is 96.67% and that in the control group is 86.67%. There was statistical significant difference comparing the two groups (P<0.05), which suggested that the treatment group was superior to the control group in therapeutic effect.2. As for the total clinical symptoms score of constipation before and after the treatment, there was obvious statistical significant difference in the treatment group and in the control group respectively(p<0.01). As for the total clinical symptoms score of constipation after the treatment, there was obvious statistical significant difference comparing the two groups (P<0.01), which suggested that both groups lowered the total clinical symptoms score and the treatment group was superior to the control group.3. As for the clinical symptoms score of constipation before and after the treatment, there was obvious statistical significant difference in the treatment group(P<0.01). As for the clinical symptoms score of constipation before and after the treatment, there was statistical significant difference in the control group in the desire to defecate (P<0.05). As for the clinical symptoms score of constipation before and after the treatment, there was obvious statistical significant difference in the control group in defecation interval time, defecation rate, fecal character, defecation difficulty and concomitant symptoms (P<0.01). As for the clinical symptoms score of constipation after the treatment, there was no statistical significant difference comparing the two groups in defecation interval time(P>0.05). As for the clinical symptoms score of constipation after the treatment, there was statistical significant difference comparing the two groups in fecal character, defecation difficulty, desire to defecate (P<0.05). As for the clinical symptoms score of constipation after the treatment, there was obvious statistical significant difference comparing the two groups in defecation rate and concomitant symptoms (P<0.01), which suggested that the treatment group was superior to the control group above five items.4.As for the first defecation time before and after the treatment, there was obvious statistical significant difference in the treatment group and in the control group respectively(P<0.01). As for the first defecation time after the treatment, there was obvious statistical significant difference comparing the two groups(P<0.01), which suggested that the treatment group was superior to the control group in the first defecation time.Conclusions:1. Both abdominal electroacupuncture treatment and traditional acupuncture treatment are effective for treating constipation after apoplexy and abdominal electroacupuncture treatment is superior to the traditional acupuncture treatment.2. Abdominal electroacupuncture treatment can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of patients with constipation after apoplexy and is obviously superior to the traditional acupuncture treatment in first defecation time, defecation rate, fecal character, defecation difficulty, desire to defecate, concomitant symptoms.
