| Objective:To analyze the incidence characteristics of pneumoconiosis from 1975 to 2014 in Jiangyin city and explore the further preventive methods of pneumoconiosis.Methods:The database of new cases of pneumoconiosis reported from 1975 to 2014 was subjected to retrospective analysis. The statistical indices included number of new pneumoconiosis cases in each year, types of pneumoconiosis, industrial distributions of pneumoconiosis cases, work types of pneumoconiosis cases, the annual changes in the mean length of service and the mean age at the onset of pneumoconiosis and so on.Results:During 1975~2014, 1892 new cases of pneumoconiosis have been diagnosed in Jiangyin city, among which 1647 male cases accounted for 87.05%. The new cases’ s average onset age was 55.1 years with average length of service being 17.9 years.According to the number of accumulated cases, silicosis, welders’ pneumoconiosis and foundry workers’ pneumoconiosis ranked the top 3 kinds, which accounted for 96.88%, 1.32% and 0.37% respectively. 813 cases of silicosis(44.35%)were at stage I and 808 cases(44.08%)were at stage II. Other cases of pneumoconiosis were mainly at stage I, which accounted for 69.49%. Most of these silicosis occurred in workers served in non-metallic mineral products industry, electric welder pneumoconiosis and caster pneumoconiosis occurred in workers served in equipment manufacturing industry. Most silicosis patients engaged in carrier and the drilling, other pneumoconiosis patients engaged in welding. The mean age at the onset of pneumoconiosis has increased gradually, and the difference among these years was statistically significant(P<0.01). The mean length of service has increased gradually, and the difference among these years was statistically significant(P<0.01).There was statistically significant difference between the mean length of service of the other pneumoconiosis patients and silicosis patients(P<0.01). Significantly increased age at the onset of pneumoconiosis was observed in patients with silicosis, compared with other pneumoconiosis patients(P<0.01). |
