Objectives:To make a Meta—analysis of comparative studies in an attempt to assess clinical out—comes after cable pin system versus kirschner wire tension band for fracture of the patella. Methods:By searching Medline,Pubmed,Elsevier,CBM,CNKI,Wan Fang Data and VIP, etc,And hand searching relevant journals。Collect control study on Cable pin system and kirschner wire tension band for fracture of the patella. Literature were screened according to inclusion and excluding criteria. Data were evaluated using Rev Man 5.3 for meta—analysis. The data included:operation time, length of the incision, blood loss, fracture healing time, postoperative flexion, complications, the Bostman clinical grading scale.Results:11 studies involving 582 patients metthe inclusion criteria. The results of the meta—analyses showed no differences in the operation time, length of the incision, blood loss. The fracture healing time is lesser in the cable pin group than in the kirschner wire group. postoperative flexion is greater in the cable pin group than in the kirschner wire group.Complications is lesser in the cable pin group than in the kirschner wire group. the Bostman clinical grading scale is greater in the cable pin group than in the kirschner wire group. Conclusion: There is no differences in the operation time, length of the incision, blood loss. But complications and the fracture healing time is lesser, postoperative flexion and the Bostman clinical grading scale is greater in the cable pin group.
