Objective By analyzing rural residents in Rizhao of TCM constitution and syndrome type distribution of elderly patients with essential hypertension(EH), study its relationship with stroke incidence, so as to provide scientific basis for early prevention and intervention of traditional Chinese medicine.Method Through "health express" activity, a retrospective study was carried out by Rizhao TCM hospital during October 2013 to June 2014 in 100 rural field, a total of 5205 cases of primary hypertension patients the results of questionnaires and their medical records were collected. Make the correlation analysis between TCM constitution, syndrome type and risk factors of the EH and stroke patients, the content including gender, age, overweight index, TCM constitution type and hypertension grade, stroke history, bad living habits, such as entry database for statistics and analysis.Result 1. More women than men patients with EH, men and women ratio was 0.88:1;The average age was 69.54±8.22 years; 2. Patients of Qi deficiency, yin deficiency, phlegm-dampness and blood stasis syndrome of hypertensives be in the majority. grade-1 hypertensives accounted for 88.13%, grade-2 hypertensives accounted for 100%, grade-3 hypertensives accounted for 98.65%.3.Among the four types of TCM syndrome of In elderly patients with EH, the distribution of the four types of TCM syndrome in grade-1 hypertensives is statistically significant(P < 0.01); grade-2 hypertensives with phlegm-blood stasis TCM syndrome type stasis by 41.2%, significantly higher than the other type, a significant difference between the two types; grade-3 hypertensives with phlegm-blood stasis TCM syndrome type stasis by 50.1%, had very significant difference compared with other types(P < 0.01). Those results suggesting that the TCM syndrome type of phlegm-blood stasis had a positive correlation with the high blood pressure level.4. Among the TCM syndrome type distribution of high-risk hypertensive patients complicating with stroke, the patients of type phlegm-blood stasis syndrome(48.8%) > yin-deficiency and yang-hyperactivity syndrome(21.6%) > Deficiency of kidney Qi syndrome(18.5%) > overabundant liver-fire syndrome(11.1%), phlegm-blood stasis is the first high risk of syndrome complicating with stroke. Conclusion Hypertension patients has certain regularity and relevance in gender, age and hypertension grade,TCM constitution type and the distribution of TCM syndrome type. Take appropriate prevention and intervention measures, according to the hypertensive patients with different constitution type and syndrome type, especially the patients with high-risk phlegm-blood stasis syndrome type, can effectively reduce stroke risk factors, and reduce the incidence of stroke.
