Objective:First, to observe the clinical efficacy of moxibustion on type 2 diabetic patients with insomnia. Second, to compare the impact of lasting time of moxibustion on clinical efficacy. Methods:In this study,90 patients were divided into three groups randomizedly. Both 15 min moxibustion group and 30 min moxibustion group receive moxibustion on Shenmen and Sanyinjiao everyday for two weeks, while compare group receive estazolam 1 to 2mg per day. After two weeks, SPIEGEL scale, PSQI scale, ISI scale and FBG were analyzed. Results:There were no significant difference of gender, age, duration of diabetes and insomnia, FBG, HbAlc, PSQI scale, ISI scale and SPIEGEL scale in each group before treatments (P> 0.05). After treatments, total effective rate of 30min moxibustion group was 96.2%, which was significantly higher than 15min moxibustion group. PSQI total score, each factor of PSQI and ISI score were all significantly alleviated than before (P<0.05~P<0.001). ISI score and PSQI score of 30min moxibustion group were significantly lower than control group and 15min moxibustion group (P<0.001).30min moxibustion group was better than 15min moxibustion group compared with each cofactor of PSQI (P<0.05~P<0.001). Compared with the control group, sleep quality factor and daytime dysfunction factor in 30min moxibustion group were significantly better (P<0.05-P<0.001), while there were no significant difference in sleep time, sleep time, sleep efficiency, and sleep disturbances four factors between the two groups (P>0.05). Daytime dysfunction score of the control group was lower than both 15min moxibustion group and 30min moxibustion group (P<0.05~P<0.001). All groups of FBG were decline after treatmen, but there were no significiant differences between each group. Conclusion:Moxibustion can improve sleep quality of type 2 diabetic patients with insomnia, and moxibustion 30min each time is better.
