The Curative Effect Of Sequential Combined Antibiotic And QingJin Huatan Decoction In Treating Of Patients With Severe Pneumonia (Type Of Phlegm-Heat Obstructing Lungs)

Objective:To evaluate the clinical effect of sequential combined therapy of antibiotic and Qing Jin Hua Tan decoction in the treatment of severe pneumonia(type of Phlegm-Heat Obstructing Lungs)and investigate the effects of the sequential combined therapy on the inflammatory factor of the severe pneumonia.Method:60 patients with severe pneumonia(type of Phlegm-Heat Obstructing Lungs) were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group. All the patients received anti-infective therapy, mechanical ventilation, maintain hemodynamic therapy, and organ function maintence, the patients in treatment group received routine therapy plus Qing Jin Hua Tan decoction by oral or nasogastric feeding when starting enteral nutrition. We observed Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome score(TCMSS), clinical pulmonary infection score (CPIS), record antibiotic treatment time, mechanical ventilation time, pulmonary infection control window(PICW) time, intensive care unit(ICU) stays, hospital stays, and recorded serum interleukin 6 (IL-6), c-reactive protein (CRP) level and change of sputum bacteria. All results were analyzed with SPSS 17.0 and P<0.05 showed a difference, with statistical sense, P <0.01 showed significant difference, with significant statistical sense.Results:(1) TCMSS and CPIS score decreased significantly for the treatment group, it was better than that of control group (P<0.05); (2) The antibiotics treatment time, the pulmonary infection control window time for the treatment group were shorter than the control group(P<0.05), The length of stay in ICU for the treatment group was shorter than the control group significantly(P<0.01), There was no difference in mechanical ventilation time and hospital stays (P>0.05); (3) About white blood cell, serum IL-6 and CRP, the results from the treatment group were perfect than the control group (P<0.05); (4) The rate of secondary infection for the treatment group was lower than that in the control group. (5) the curative effect for the treatment group was better than the control group.Conclusion:Sequential combined therapy of antibiotic and Qing Jin Hua Tan decoction can reduce TCMSS and CPIS score of patients with SP significantly, alleviate the patients’ inflammation, shorten the time of ICU stays, reduce the antibiotic treatment period, reduce the antibiotic exposure time of patients, reduce the generation of secondary infection.
